Amy
Rattleff
Vice President of Public Policy and External Affairs
Amy brings two decades of legislative, education, and policy experience to Texas TransformED, as well as the drive of a mom who wanted to better her own son’s classroom.
Amy, a former teacher, has drafted and analyzed education legislation, built working relationships with state agencies, school districts, and advocacy organizations across Texas, and served as District Director for a Texas State Representative. She helped draft and pass an amendment to House Bill 3 that preserved the strength and integrity of Texas’s Gifted and Talented plan. Through her years inside the process, she understands the unintended consequences of well-intentioned education policy and the kind of structural reform required to avoid them.
That dual perspective — inside the classroom and inside the Capitol — shapes Amy’s work at Texas TransformED: results-driven and focused on solutions, accountability, transparency, and measurable student outcomes. Her focus is now on strengthening teacher support, restoring mastery as the foundation of instruction, and advancing policies that improve achievement statewide.
Amy is honored as a Lifetime PTA Member after nearly a decade of local PTA leadership. She is also an eighth-generation Texan with an ancestor who fought at the Alamo. Amy and her husband of 26 years are proud parents of a son attending a top-tier private university.
